ARCH 598 Coastal Community Resilience Studio Summer 2014

Architecture graduate students Kelly Bergeron, Guy Dugas, William "Joe" Frick,  Lauren Malbrough, and Ian Renoux participated in the Coastal Community Resilience Studio summer course offering which sought to create resilient, innovative, and distributed energy system design solutions using Clean Technology to produce proposals for Louisiana in response to the June 2014 US EPA clean power plan.

Students visited the Cleco Alternative Energy Center, LSU AgCenter Iberia Research Station, and the Engineering laboratories on the UL Lafayette campus to further their understanding of current alternative energy research. Students also attended the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Field Hearing. The final review was held at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

Many thanks to Dr. Prashanth Buchireddy, Dr. Sonny Viator, Dean Mark Zappi, and Gerd Wuestemann for hosting the class on various site visits and the final review.
