Facility Design & Management

The Facility Design & Management Studio works to educate the University community on best interior design principles while providing design assistance to on-campus units at the University.

The FDMS allows our students to infuse real-life situations into their design projects, such as budgeting and working with vendors. Students conduct extensive interviews with their clients to identify how the space can be used most effectively, and field questions about design elements.

Recent Projects

Our students have worked on recent renovations to buildings on campus, including:

  • the French House for the new offices for Enrollment Services,
  • the Dean of Education’s Office Suite and the Lobby of Maxim Doucet Hall, and
  • the Dean of Nursing’s Suite and Conference Room in Wharton Hall.

Recent proposals include those for adding a coffee shop in the Edith Garland Dupre Library, Rose Garden Dormitories’ renovations, and proposals for an Art and Accessories program for the new Hilton Garden Inn on UL Lafayette’s Campus.
