Interior Design Students Attend IIDA SHIFT Conference in Dallas

In early February the IIDA ULL Campus Center Delta Region attended the IIDA SHIFT Conference in Dallas, TX at the historic downtown Statler Hilton Hotel. Despite the winter storm and icy roads, ULL had 15 students attending, by far the largest group there. For 23 years, SHIFT has been the premier event for students and professionals to participate in; with interior design students from across the nation, meeting up with Texas design firms, showrooms, and textile representatives.  Professional IIDA members attend to educate students on their company as well as recruit interns or future employment opportunities. The 3-day event held seminars to educate students on what to do or not do in your portfolio; work solution simulation; becoming licensed, and other such topics to ready graduates for the working world. Many connections were made with other students from around the nation, as well as professionals. Those who attended include: Molie Lanteigne, Blake Campbell, Ryan Arceneaux, Hanna Smith, Ava Thibodeaux, Morgan Borel, Catherine Montour, Naomi Angelle, Keirsten Romero, Lindsey Durio, Hannah Page, Catherine Bergeron, Elexia Sellars, Tayla Harkless, Amanda Sims, Julie Faciane and Faculty Advisor, Chris Birkentall, IIDA.
