So you’re thinking about becoming a designer? Whether it’s Architecture, Industrial, or Interior Design, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design, Summer Design Discovery Program offers High School students an introduction to the design professions. Our one week program allows you to be immersed in a college experience that includes on-campus dorm rooms, meals, field trips to professional design firms, lectures, and projects introducing you to the world of design. By immersing you in design and having you engage with faculty and current undergraduate and graduate students, our goal is to instill you with the confidence to start your design education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design provides FOUNDATION STUDIOS to introduce students to the design profession. The teaching methods encourage students to develop critical thinking skills, as well as building skill sets. The objective is to instill the students with confidence to continue their design education.
The enrichment program offers perspective design students an opportunity to actively engage in real college experience. The program is the first step to allow students to explore potential future careers by providing a glimpse into the academic expectations in a college setting. The program will run for one week. Students will have the option for an on campus living experience or a day camp experience.
Our next Design Discovery Summer Program will run from June 12-17, 2017.
