Tanaya Deshpande is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, specializing in interior architecture, design research, and graphic recording. She holds a B.A in English from Savitribai Phule Pune University, an undergraduate degree in Interior Design from Dr. B.N College of Architecture for Women and an M.S. in Interior Architecture from Drexel University. Her work has garnered multiple recognitions, including the Social Change Award for Equity at Drexel University for her graduate thesis project. With over five years of professional experience spanning both India and the U.S., she brings a global and research-informed perspective to her teaching and practice.
Her research examines the intersection of art, human behavior, well-being and the built environment. Mind Palace, her graduate thesis, investigates the design of healthy environments that support cognitive aging by employing a multi-method, human centered approach. Drawing on her expertise in spatial design and human sciences, Tanaya integrates art, technology, and strategic thinking to create impactful spatial solutions.
